Her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was CEO and President of the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been founded in 1847. It was shut down in 1978. Jacobs started studying acting when she was just eight years old and took Saturday lessons in acting in The Pittsburgh Playhouse. She performed at Pittsburgh's Public Theatre. Pittsburgh Public Theater, where she was crowned the winner of the Public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest many times. Following her graduation from Mt.
